Thold Travel, founded in 2015, emerged from the legacy of Phnom Da Travel, honoring Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage. Our agency is deeply rooted in the local community and emphasizes immersive travel experiences.
Thold Travel is a boutique travel company based in Takeo, Cambodia, founded in 2015 to create meaningful, immersive travel experiences. With a focus on Cambodia’s landscapes, history, and living culture, we design journeys that go beyond typical sightseeing — encouraging deeper encounters and genuine understanding.
While Cambodia remains our specialty, we also assist travelers with tailored expeditions to India, China, and the islands of Oceania. Our knowledge of these destinations is based on firsthand travel and long-term regional presence.
One of our most unique offerings is a river experience aboard Papcio Chmiel — a composite motorboat stationed in Takeo Province, perfect for slow exploration of Cambodia’s Mekong-side wetlands. We organize peaceful birdwatching cruises as well as visits to Phnom Da, the oldest temple site in the country.
Thold Travel was founded by Pawel W. Bolek — journalist, tour leader, and university lecturer — who has lived in Southeast Asia for over a decade. With a background in social sciences and a passion for meaningful travel, Pawel has also worked on educational and humanitarian projects in Cambodia, produced a documentary about Rohingya refugee camps, and authored books and travel features focused on Asia.
